About

What is the AUT Programming Contest?  The AUT Programming Contest is a contest for teams of up to 3 programmers who are students at AUT.  Teams are given a set of problems, a single computer and 4 hours  to submit solutions for judging. Judging is done automatically, and if the team's solution gives the same output as the judges' solution then the team scores a point.  The team with the most points in the shortest time wins.

Have we had a contest yet?  The first contest was held on Friday April 15th 2016 and was won by AUTPCC (Shannon Ness, Jonathan Hill and Scott Mackenzie).

How often will the contest be held?  We hope the contest will be held every year in Semester 1. The second contest was held in 2017. It was won by Shane Birdsall, Scott Richards and Mikhaela Tajonera.

How can I enter?  Entry is done through Blackboard in the weeks before the contest.

How can I prepare?  The Blackboard course, Programming Contests, has sample problems for you to try.  If you can do those, look online - there are thousands of problems out there, some with automatic judging.  There are also copies of the problem sets for this contest - see Results.
